"My favorite addition to my workouts" - When Justin Verlander's wife Kate Upton traded dumbbells for daughter Genevieve for leg day lunges

Justin Verlander and Kate Upton became parents for the first time on November 7, 2018, welcoming daughter Genevieve Upton Verlander. The couple's life changed significantly with a new addition to their family. While Verlander was busy with his baseball schedule, Upton had to make do with her routine to incorporate her daughter.

The four-time Sports Illustrated cover model is consistent when it comes to workouts. But since she was a mother too, she did her best to manage both. On May 12, 2020, Upton posted a video where she turned her workout into a family affair by incorporating her baby daughter, Genevieve, into her routine.

She shared a clip of her doing leg lunges while holding Genevieve instead of traditional weights.

"My baby girl is my favorite addition to my workouts," she captioned the post.

Kate Upton believes in 'birth order thing' after seeing commonality between Genevieve and Justin Verlander

There are several stereotypes associated with birth order. The firstborns are often seen as responsible, organized, and rule-abiding. The middle child is known to be a peacemaker and negotiator. Meanwhile, the youngest is more free-spirited, less concerned with rules, and often playful or charming.

Both Justin Verlander and Genevieve are firstborns. Meanwhile, Kate Upton is the third child. In an exclusive interview with People in July, Upton shared that her daughter is a rule follower just like her dad and it may have something to do with both being firstborn.

"They both love a rule, and they will follow it. I’m not," Kate Upton said. "She is an only child and Justin is a first child, and I really think that there’s a birth order thing. I’m a third child. I’ve never met a rule, so she doesn’t get that from me."

While Genevieve does like to follow rules like her dad, she likes to dress up like her mother.

"She loves to get dressed with me. I think she has better style than Justin and I, so she picks out all her own clothes," Upton said. "And that makes me so happy, because clothes are such a creative expression of yourself, and I love that she has found that even at her age."

Genevieve has grown up and has been even spotted attending some of Houston Astros alongside her mother. Justin Verlander is currently a free agent and is seeking a contract this offseason.
