Evoladi attended Alvin High School in Alvin, Texas. He used to play baseball even when he was in high school. He got a baseball scholarship and attended Texas A&M University. The pitcher was selected in the 2008 MLB draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the eleventh round and was the 337th overall pick.
