The New York Mets have looked like one of the best teams in baseball to start the year, but the Milwaukee Brewers defeated them soundly on Monday. The game was not just a blowout, nor was it just a shutout, with a final score of 10-0 in the Brewers' favor accounting for both. The Mets entered the season with an immense amount of pressure on them, leading to a rather explosive response to this loss.
The only comfort that Mets fans have after this dismal performance is that it only counts as one loss. This game certainly got away from them, and they will need to rebound. Allowing 10 unaswered runs is not the kind fo fight one would hope to see from a team with World Series aspirations.
The New York Mets posted the final score of their game against the Milwaukee Brewers on Twitter.

Losing in that fashion is a tough pill for MLB fans to swallow. Not only did they lose, their team was never really even in the game nor did they present a significant challenge. With as hot as the Mets were to start the season, they were bound for a game like this to bring them back down to Earth.
The Milwaukee Brewers deserve a ton of credit for this dominant victory over one of the National League East's best. The Brewers are out to show they are legitimate contenders in the National League Central. More games like this and they will not find it hard to win the division over the St. Louis Cardinals or Chicago Cubs.
The New York Mets have a long season ahead of them and cannot afford to dwell on this loss. This is one of those games you don't look back at to look for improvements. Sometimes it is better for the mental side of the game to just say "that one got away from us" and move on to the next.
The Milwaukee Brewers played at their absolute best, and it was too much for the New York Mets to handle.
The Milwaukee Brewers need to build momentum off this win over New York Mets

Underpinned by strong pitching from starters to the bullpen, the Brewers have won at least 86 games in each of the past five seasons (aside from the 2020 season shortened by COVID-19). Getting a high level of play from Christian Yelich, the 2018 National League MVP, would go a long way to helping this team reach its final form.
If the Brewers are able to play like this consistently, they will find themselves in World Series contention along with the Mets.
