Devon Rose Damon, daughter of two-time World Series champion Johnny Damon, celebrated her 18th birthday on Saturday. Her father shared an emotional message to wish his daughter well on the occasion, while her mother, Michelle, also offered her blessings on social media.

Johnny Damon posted a set of photographs of his daughter on Instagram from different phases of her childhood until she finally turned into an adult this year. He penned a few heartfelt words for Devon Rose to congratulate her on becoming a woman.

Devon Rose Damon seems to be a person with a deep love for the outdoors and animals. Two of the images shared by Johnny Damon on Instagram show her on boats; one as a little girl on a fishing trip with her dad and the other as a grown-up woman with her friends. Another picture from her childhood shows a young Devon Rose grinning gleefully while holding a couple of lizards in her hands.

"18 years of love, laughter and unforgettable memories," Damon wrote. "Watching you become the incredible young woman you are today has been a great privilege. Here’s to all the adventures, dreams, and moments yet to come. Happy 18th birthday, my heart!"
"Happy Birthday, our first-born animal whisperer," her mother Michelle replied in the comments section.

Damon is the father of eight children from his two marriages, including two sets of twins. He has a son and a daughter from his first wife, Angela Vannice. The pair were married for 10 years until they divorced in 2002.

The two-time All-Star married Michelle Mangan two years later. They have five daughters and a son, together with Devon Rose being their eldest child.

Johnny Damon played for seven different teams over his 18-year major league career, stretching from 1995 to 2012. Since his retirement, he has been fairly active in politics, having publicly offered his support for Donald Trump since the latter's first bid for the US presidency nearly a decade ago.

Damon had spoken at a rally in Florida during Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, offering his support for a wall to be built between the United States and Mexico. In October 2019, he was a special guest for the Orange County Republican Party's Trump Defender Gala in Orlando.

In February 2021, the former All-Star outfielder was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and resisting an officer without violence in Windmere, Florida. At the time, he had claimed that the incident occurred because he was being targeted for his support for Donald Trump.
