Without question, Fernando Tatis Jr. is one of the most dynamic players in the MLB right now. The 25-year-old has been a force for the San Diego Padres since making his way to the majors in 2019. The superstar put on a show on Sunday during the team's National League Division Series matchup against their rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
During the Padres' dramatic 10-2 domination of the Dodgers in Game 2, Tatis put all his ability on full display. The two-time All-Star slugger launched two massive home runs to help his team even the series 1-1.
While the superstar's performances reminded fans and experts why he is one of the best players in baseball, it was his interaction with Dodgers fans that made headlines. Tatis Jr. was seen mocking Dodgers fans with his dance moves. As a result, fans took to social media to share their thoughts:
"He’s a horrible professional," a fan said.
"I hate this man," another added.
"Pure class," a fan said.
No love was lost between Fernando Tatis Jr. and the Dodgers fans.
"I’m a Dodger fan straight up, but as a sports fan, when you hit multiple bombs, you have every right to do this."
"Yell, boo, taunt, I don’t care. Just don’t throw stuff at players," another fan added.
"Nasty. This is a family game," a fan said.
Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jurickson Profar had objects thrown at them during the game
People in attendance threw objects at Padres players, including Tatis Jr. and Jurickson Profar, when they were in the outfield. These outbursts led to delays and an increase in security as tensions continued to rise.
It remains to be seen if any punishment will be dished out because of the incidents. However, the thing that is clear is that the series is quickly becoming must-watch television.
Game 3 of the matchup between the Dodgers and Padres is scheduled for Tuesday night at PETCO Park in San Diego.
