"A lot of really good people who push me in the right direction" - Braves star Chris Sale credits support system amid impressive 2024 success

Atlanta Braves ace Chris Sale recently talked about the factors that contributed to his strong performances and appreciated the people behind the scenes who helped him be successful on the mound. Sale is having an exceptional season for the Braves who are pushing for a National League Wildcard spot.

With a 65-58 record, Atlanta is currently third in the NL Wildcard standings, leading the New York Mets by one game.

Talking to Bally Sports, Chris Sale discussed his teammates' support.

"3 unbelievable catchers and the teammates behind my back. I'm just surrounded by a lot of really good people who push me in the right direction," Sale said.

Sale also credited the Braves' staff for keeping him in top condition for the whole season.

"[2:30] As a whole, the training staff, the guys in the weight room, Alex [Anthopoulos], our coaching staff, have done a lot for us as starting pitchers to be able to do what we need to do. They keep me healthy throught the year so I can answer the bell when called upon."
"They let us know well in advance, so I can execute my routines that I have in place 5 or 6 days in advance," Sale added.

Chris Sale strikes out 10 as Braves offense comes to life in Los Angeles

The Atlanta Braves came back from a loss in the series opener to beat the LA Angels 11-3 at Angel Stadium on Saturday. The visitors took control of proceedings early, as designated hitter Marcell Ozuna put the Braves up by three with a home run in the first inning.

Chris Sale had another successful outing on the mound, striking out 10 batters. Saturday's outing is the third consecutive game he has struck out 10 or more, taking him to the top of the charts for Ks in the league with 187. He has a 2.62 ERA and 1.00 WHIP, with a 14-3 record in the 2024 season.

The Braves take on the Angels one last time on Sunday, with a win clinching the series. As for Sale, his next start is set to be in the home series opener against the Washington Nationals at Truist Park, on August 23.

With the Philadelphia Phillies visiting next, Braves fans will be hoping their team can get the job done on Monday and carry the momentum into what promises to be a challenging assignment against one of the best teams in the MLB.
