Dodgers ace slugger Freddie Freeman's wife, Chelsea Freeman, is an entrepreneur by profession. She runs an online boutique thaat goes by her name and has an amazing collection of gameday-centric sports wear and exclusive merchandise. She and Freddie have been married for more than nine years and are proud parents of three sons.
On Tuesday night, she shared an interesting excerpt from her life on Instagram story when one fan asked her what it's like to be a baseball wife and how she and Freddie Freeman met each other. Chelsea replied by writing:
"We met when I was 19, and he was 21. .. I was in college at UCF, and he was in Orlando for Braves spring training. I liked that he was tall and funny, but we were just long distance texting friends for almost 6 months before we started 'dating'.
"We did long distance for the first 2 years, and it was hard. We broke up once or twice in that time. I moved to GA when I was 22, and we got a lot more serious. We got engaged the following year, and then married when I was 23. This November will be our 10-year wedding anniversary."
Continuing her long reply and shedding light on what it has been like to be a baseball wife after marrying Freddie Freeman, Chelsea wrote:
"Being an MLB wife is a wild ride. A very small percentage is glamorous, and most of the behind the scenes are the opposite. The schedule is grueling. The pressure on your husband every day is intense. It can be really lonely especially before kids because the guys are always gone, and you are usually far from your family/friends.
"They have 162 games a season, so it's games almost every day. I try to take any stress that I can off of Freddie during season, so he can just focus on baseball. At the same time, it is pretty surreal to see your husband live his dream and compete at the highest level."

In her response to the fan's question, Cheslea also reflected on and praised the two teams Freddie Freeman has played for in the MLB: the Atlanta Braves and, now, the LA Dodgers. Finishing her reply from above, she wrote:
"We have been so lucky to play for two iconic and first class organizations (Braves + Dodgers). They both go out of their way for their players and their families."
Finally, voicing her praise for the sport at large, Chelsea wrote:
"We have experienced such incredible things becasue of baseball. Also seeing my boys grow up at baseball fields and the memories they will always have is EVERYTHING."
Freddie Freeman is having a fine year with the LA Dodgers and looks set to produce another successful season in his big league career.
