Giancarlo Stanton has been the New York Yankees' leading man this postseason. He led the team to a win in the American League Championship Series against the Cleveland Guardians and earned the MVP. He is one of the strongest power hitters, and there have been comparisons with Yanks captain Aaron Judge over who hits the hardest.

On "The Mayor's Office with Sean Casey" on Tuesday, Yankees manager Aaron Boone and Casey, the host and former Yankees hitting coach, discussed how Stanton is one of the best hitters the sport has produced.

"Obviously, Ginacarlo, I am so grateful I got a chance to be with him last year and to coach him," Casey said.. ... "I have never seen a guy hit the ball harder than Big G and, especially when you have a guy like Judgy on your team, you are thinking, 'Best player on the planet, no doubt but hits the ball harder than anybody?' I don't know. I think Stanton hits harder, which is incredible." [6:25]

Casey then asked Boone what he felt about the veteran DH's performances in the postseason over the years. The Yanks skipper spoke about Stanton's internal regimen that keeps him in check even during the mightiest of situations, like the postseason.

"He's a killer man. He's an amazing competitor," Boone said. ... "He goes to another place and he's just so mentally tough and mentally disciplined, and he's able to block out all the noise that goes with playing here, playing as a Yankee. Whatever the noise around the postseason, he's able to lock in as good as anyone I have ever seen, and the results he has proven it in his postseason career." [7:15]

Aaron Judge's heartfelt message after Giancarlo Stanton's ALCS MVP win

After the Game 5 victory over the Guardians, Aaron Judge spoke about Stanton and his achievement.

“That guy’s gotten booed so many times, at the stadium, on the road, everything,” Judge said. “He's been battling some tough injuries along the way, but the guy always shows up when we need him. ... He may not be as vocal as others, but when he needs to speak, people always listen.”

With 16 home runs in 36 postseason games, Stanton is the most efficient postseason home run hitter of all time. He would look to continue this success in the Fall Classic.
