Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani continue to be the most searched baseball players in the world. StatMuse, a database of sports statistics, revealed its list of most viewed player pages for 2024. Unsurprisingly, Judge topped that list. He was followed by Shohei Ohtani, Juan Soto, Elly De La Cruz and Barry Bonds.
All these individuals have made great strides in their careers in 2024, with the exception being Bonds, whose legendary resume, continues to be searched by people to date.
Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Juan Soto and Elly De La Cruz had exceptional 2024 seasons
Aaron Judge had another year to remember. He led the majors with 58 home runs, guiding the Yankees to their first World Series trip since 2009. He was awarded the unanimous AL MVP for his regular-season heroics.
However, he struggled in the postseason as the Yankees fell short of winning the Fall Classic against the Dodgers.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers' $700 million man Shohei Ohtani, who played solely as DH while rehabbing from a shoulder injury, put on a historic season. He became the first player to break the 50-50 barrier, wrapping up the regular season with 54 home runs and 58 stolen bases.
He continued the onslaught in his maiden postseason, culminating in his first World Series title. Even more impressive was the fact that he played through an injury in Game 2. He was awarded his third MVP, a unanimous NL MVP honor.
Juan Soto, who bagged a record-breaking 15-year, $765 million deal from the Mets as a free agent, started the year getting traded from the San Deigo Padres to the New York Yankees. He had a career year, batting .288/.419/.569 with 41 home runs, 109 RBIs, and 129 walks (second in majors). His fearsome hitting alongside Aaron Judge was a spectacle in the Bronx, and he finished third in AL MVP voting.
Cincinnati Reds infielder Elly De La Cruz had a career year, too. He led the majors with 67 stolen bases while hitting .259 along with 25 home runs and 76 RBIs.
