There's no doubt New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge would have liked Juan Soto to re-sign with the team. After all, the duo enjoyed an incredible season so much that their one-two punch earned comparisons with the legendary duo of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig during the 2024 regular season.
However, as often is the case, money prevailed, with Soto declining the Yankees' 16-year, $760 million deal and signing a record 15-year, $765 million with their cross-town rivals New York Mets.
So, is there any bitterness between Soto and Judge following Soto's exit from the Bronx? Fans believe so, as Judge's 2024 recap on Instagram doesn't include the star outfielder while having other Yankees teammates in it.
"Judge not mentioning Soto is so bad a** 😭" a fan wrote.
"Judge sucked his d**k all year, and then Soto broke up with him 😭 he’s just b**thurt," another fan said.
"Actually it shows how much of an ungrateful little c**t he is for the guy that carried his sorry a** team into the World Series," another wrote.
"2025 and Yankee fans are still salty LMFAO wow," one fan commented.
"Pull up stats of 2024 post season Judge can suck a hotdog 🌭 🤣," another wrote.
"My captain had luke voit and no soto. Soto is cancer," another wrote.
The fan reactions suggest a bitter break-up between Juan Soto and Aaron Judge's Yankees. Following Soto's move, expect loud boos at Yankee Stadium during the 2025 Subway Series when Soto takes the plate.
Juan Soto's agent asked Yankees to match Mets' winning bid: Report
Fans who are throwing shade at Juan Soto for parting ways with the Yankees must know that the outfielder had asked his agent Scott Boras to ask Brian Cashman & Co. to match David Stearns' Mets winning bid of 15-year, $765 million bid, according to ESPN.
However, the Yankees stood their ground and not upgrade their last offer of 16-year $760 million. The organization might have thought that a few millions shouldn't be the prevailing factor.
However, within a few hours after that, the Mets and Soto were engaged, leaving Yankees fans enraged.
