Since making his MLB debut in 2024, Aaron Judge ascended to become one of the sports' most esteemed and celebrated bats. However, as an image that is circulating online shows, athletic excellence is not a novelty for the Yankees captain.

In the run-up to the World Series, a Yankees fan account posted an infographic of Judge's figure as a senior at Linden High School in California during the 2009-2010 season. A multi-sport athlete, the graphic highlights just how dominant Aaron Judge was.

The future New York Yankees captain played football, basketball, and baseball and was his school's best player in all three sports. Although the 6-foot-7 Judge ultimately decided to pursue baseball, his performances in the other sports suggest that he could have forged a career there had that been his will.

As a wide receiver, Judge rushed 969 yards in his final season, completing nearly 100 receptions. As his high school career wound down, many top schools - such as Notre Dame, Stanford and UCLA - attempted to recruit Judge to play tight end.

Judge was also a very promising basketball player, averaging 18.2 points per game in his senior year. He was also named to the California All-State team as a senior.

Although he was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 31st round of the 2010 June Amateur Draft, Aaron Judge opted to play college ball at Fresno State. Although he showed great promise in the other sports, Judge's love lay with baseball. He was drafted by the Yankees in 2013.

Aaron Judge's athletic prowess leaves other athletes in awe

Now mere days away from his first career World Series appearance, Judge knows that decades of superior athletic performance led to this. A near-superhuman athlete, many other sports figures are often left impressed with Judge's frame and presence, as WNBA star Caitlyn Clark told The Sun after meeting the star this summer:

“He’s way bigger than even people think, you know he’s big, but then when you get next to him, it’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, you could probably play football, just about any sport you want to.’ He’d probably be pretty good at basketball, too. But, he’s a good guy, down-to-earth. … He’s like double my height.”

Judge wanted to play baseball above all else, and Yankees fans could soon be reaping the benefits of that fateful decision.
