The New York Yankees, to the delight of their captain Aaron Judge, have officially re-signed Jonathan Loaisiga. The relief pitcher missed the vast majority of the 2024 season, but he has been a big piece of their bullpen since he debuted with the team.

Loaisiga has never played for another team, and it looks like he won't for at least one more season. Judge, who is friends with Loaisiga, posted on his Instagram story celebrating the signing.

Loaisiga posted a picture of himself and Judge with the words, "I told you bro" posted. He seems to imply that he had said at some point to Judge that he would be back with the Yanks. Judge replied with:

"I knew it brother!"

The pitcher went down with an arm injury early in 2024, otherwise, he would have played a big role in the Yankees' postseason bullpen.

Aaron Judge won't lose Juan Soto as a friend

Juan Soto has left the New York Yankees. Unlike Jonathan Loaisiga, he didn't re-up with the team. After forming a historic pairing with Aaron Judge, Soto landed with the crosstown New York Mets on a 15-year deal.

Judge said during the process that he was giving Soto space to make his decision. After he signed, the outfielder revealed that he hadn't spoken with his former teammate. However, when asked if he would speak with Judge and others, with whom he formed a strong relationship over the year, Soto said via Daily Mail:

"Yes, why not? At the end of the day, we're still friends, we're still cool. Whatever happens, it's just business. The relationship that we created last year will stay forever."

Despite Soto being given space during the free agency process, he doesn't expect to lose the friends he made with the Yankees. It was a one-year tenure, but both sides seemed to enjoy the pairing while it lasted.
