Only a night remains between Christmas bells taking over New York and Aaron Judge's dog is expecting Santa to arrive to spread holiday cheer. Judge is dad to two dogs: a blond dachshund named Gus and a female named Penn.

In the 2024 season, where Judge led the Yankees to their first AL pennant in 15 years, both these dogs could be seen on the playing field, before and after the game, with the 2024 AL unanimous MVP enjoying their company.

On Tuesday, the Yankees captain shared an adorable photo of his furry companion, cozy and content, as they waited for Santa Claus to arrive.

The snap shows a golden-haired dachshund (Gus), peacefully snoozing on a plush blanket, with the caption: "Waiting for Santa…" accompanied by a festive Santa emoji.

Aaron Judge talks about his dogs being everyday part of his baseball life

Aaron Judge and his wife Samantha Brackseick adopted Dachshund Gus during the 2023 offseason. Along with Anthony Rizzo's Daschund Kevin, Gus also have custom dog fits which allows them to run on Yankee Stadium grass freely.

During an interview with Yes Network in July, Judge spoke about both Gus and Penny, with whom the outfielder has been spotted playing often.

"They are doing great. I gotta get them back out here on the field, though it's been sometime since they have been on the field. But, we will definitely be seeing them out here soon, they are two great dogs," Judge said.
"They come with us everywhere, we are on the road they come with us, we are at home they are with us. We will be definitely there in Arlington so really looking forward to that."

On the baseball front, Aaron Judge won his second AL MVP in 2024, after he led the majors with 58 home runs. Though his hitting numbers took a nosedive in the postseason, inviting criticism, he still is MLB's most fearsome hitter. However, he'll miss the company of Juan Soto who signed with crosstown rivals New York Mets on a record 15 year, $765M deal.
