LA Dodgers relief pitcher Joe Kelly is about to appear in the World Series for the fourth time. The two-time World Series champion has already had a decorated career and has a chance to add one more ring this season. The Dodgers beat the Mets in the NLCS to set up a World Series fixture with the New York Yankees starting this Friday.
Kelly, who last pitched in September against the Colorado Rockies, hasn't pitched this postseason after suffering a shoulder injury during workouts. During the NLDS, manager Dave Roberts mentioned the reliever won't be available until the World Series.
Though Kelly didn't take the mound in the NLCS showdown, his wife and their newborn kid watched the Dodgers' 10-5 Game 6 victory. Kelly's wife Ashley posted snaps from the post-game celebration featuring Kelly enjoying himself with son Kai.
"I watched his first World Series and loss to the Red Sox in 2013," Ashley wrote. "Knox watched Daddy beat the Dodgers in 2018 World Series with the Red Sox. Crue and Blake watched Daddy win the 2020 World Series with the Dodgers. And Kai is about to watch Daddy & the Dodgers beat the Yanks in 2024 YTY.
"This is Joe freaking Kelly's 4th World Series trip What a freaking career!"
Joe and Ashley Kelly have four children together: Knox, twins Crue and Blake and Kai, who was born in April 2023.
Joe Kelly's wife Ashely gives a shout-out to Dodgers ladies
While Dodgers stars sweated it out on the field, their partners made sure to cheer for them from the stands.
After winning Game 6, the Dodgers stars' wives and girlfriends posed for a group photo. Ashely Kelly reposted a picture on her Instagram, giving a shout-out to all the partners for their immense support throughout the season.
"These girls are everything! Freaking bada** ride or dies that truly do it all! Love you all to moon and back," she wrote.
It remains to be seen whether Joe Kelly can take the mound against the Yankees and win his third World Series ring.
