Alex Bregman's household may very well be brewing up a baseball player. The Houston Astros star's son Knox, who just turned two this August 1, loves swinging the ball and running bases. Both Bregman and his wife Reagan's social media feeds are filled with him playing baseball and Sunday's story was another addition to it.
Alex shared the story of Knox hitting a ball off a tee. He made contact as Alex called the hit a "home run." Knox also made sure to give a "home run" pose at the batting cage, which the Bregman family visited over the weekend.
The toddler's love for baseball also led him to make friends with Lucas, son of Maria and Josh Hader, during spring training in Florida.
Alex Bregman and Reagan met each other through a mutual friend at a restaurant, after which the couple started dating. The Astros third baseman proposed to Reagan in January 2020. In Dec. 2023, they tied the knot at Reagan's parents' home in Katy.
They welcomed their son, Knox Samuel, in August 2022.
Alex Bregman's son Knox spoils Alex Bregman's interview for adorable baseball request
In June, Alex Bregman was being interviewed post-game near the Astros dugout tunnel. He was with his son Knox who was constantly interrupting the third baseman. All he wanted from Alex was to visit the clubhouse's batting cage and dugout.
"Dada, Dada, batting cage,” said Knox.
“Cage, dugout. He’s been begging all weekend,” Bregman said in a video shared by Astros beat reporter Brian McTaggart on X. “He wants to go to the (batting) cage and the dugout. So we’re gonna take him to the cage and the dugout.”
After the postgame interview, Bregman fulfilled his promise as Knox made his visit to Minute Maid Park count.
On the field, Bregman has turned his season around in his contract year. After having a slow start to the season, Bregman has been hitting well, spiking his batting average to .261 to go along with 19 home runs and 59 RBIs.
Along with Yordan Alvarez and other Astros stars, the team has also gone from sweeping the floors with the Angels and Athletics to taking the lead in the AL West just after the All-Star break. Now once again at the top, they are looking forward to reclaiming their World Series title after losing out to the Rangers last year in the ALCS.
