It is almost Christmas and everyone is filled with festive spirit, ready to celebrate according to their own customs and traditions. Former MLB player Alex Rodriguez, who is of Dominican descent, seems quite excited for the occasion.
Rodriguez, who boasts a whopping 4.3 million Instagram followers, often shares personal moments with his fans. The 49-year-old also posts about baseball and includes playful content to keep his audience engaged.
On Tuesday, December 24, Alex Rodriguez took to Instagram to share a playful post about Christmas, showcasing a relatable aspect of his own culture. In the video, the baseball legend could be seen sitting on a couch and sipping from a cup. The caption reads:
“Latinos getting all dressed up on Christmas Eve only to go sit en la sala.”
The caption humorously references a common tradition in Latino families, where people dress up in festive attire even when the celebration takes place at home, often in ‘la sala,’ which means the living room.
Alex Rodriguez also shared his holiday wishes to his fans, writing under the post:
“Merry Christmas from our sala to yours! 🎄”
Rodriguez is a businessman and a former shortstop and third baseman who spent a significant portion of his Major League Baseball career with the New York Yankees, playing for them from 2004-2016.
During his 22-season career, Alex Rodriguez achieved numerous accolades, including 14 All-Star selections, three AL MVP awards, two Gold Glove awards, 10 Silver Slugger awards, and four AL Hank Aaron Awards.
Alex Rodriguez opens up about the 2009 Yankees team's success
Alex Rodriguez also won the World Series title with the New York Yankees in 2009. Last week, reflecting on the team's success that year, Rodriguez posted a clip on Instagram where he said:
“Everyone at one hundred percent. You can’t win with a divided team. I’d rather have a good team that’s committed than a great team full of egos. You can’t win with that, and it’s toxic.”
In addition to his time with the Yankees, Alex Rodriguez also played for the Seattle Mariners from 1994 to 2000 and the Texas Rangers from 2001 to 2003.
