One of the biggest fans of Evan Carter is his mom, Susan Carter. The Texas Rangers outfielder, who last played on May 25 against the Minnesota Twins, was sidelined due to a lingering back issue. He did an intense recovery to make a comeback later in the season.

However, in early August, he was shut down, dashing hopes of a return this season. His mother, Susan, had a different way to pray for him. She's trying to buy every baseball rookie card of his son online, leading to a heartwarming gesture.

Ryan, who was selling baseball cards, found a common name for the purchase of Evan Carter's rookie card. He searched on Google and found out that it was none other than his mom, Susan. He immediately canceled the purchase, issued her refund and gave away all of Carter's baseball cards to her for free.

"No mother should have to pay for her son’s collectibles,” he wrote.

In reply, Susan also thanked Ryan for understanding her.

"Oh my goodness!!!! Thank You! I have been trying to buy as many rookie cards of Evan that I can. I just tell people to pray he comes back stronger than ever next season and does what his team needs him to do. I truly appreciate your message!," she replied.

Fans on the internet, though, found the incident funny. They unleashed sarcasm on the Instagram post, portraying themselves as the mother/father of different baseball stars to get their hands on their favorite star's cards.

"I need rookie cards of my son Aaron Judge too please," one fan commented.
"Anyone has rookie cards of my son Shohei Otani?," another added.
"I’m Shohei’s Dad, would love to get some of my son’s rookie cards😂," another wrote.
"@topps I’m Mickey mantles great grandson could I maybe get one of his rookie cards, I really want to get to know my great grandfather yk," another posted.
"Hi, as Jackson Merrill’s brother, any way I can get a card as well?," a fan commented.
"Victor Wembanyama’s father here, would love my sons cards 🦾," another commented.

Evan Carter left disappointed after month-long recovery goes to waste

Evan Carter wanted to make a return this season, sticking to the recovery process in July. Around the first week of August, he went to meet Dr. Robert Watkins, a prominent spinal surgeon, who advised him to take more rest for healing.

“You're getting ramped up and about ready to go ... you're working really hard to get back out there,” Carter said. “And then it's like, ‘Hey, I know you've busted your butt for three weeks. Sorry. You're done.’
“You get back down, and then you kind of get a glimpse of hope again, you're doing it again, and then get shot back down right again -- so it's mentally exhausting. But at the same time, now you've got a different goal. My offseason is going to be way longer than everybody else's. So come spring, my goal now is I should be ready to go. More than ready to go.”

Before he hit the injured list, Evan Carter was having a down season, slashing only .188/.272/.361 in 45 games. He will hope to start hitting after 9–10 weeks.
