Houston Astros fans were left elated after a huge 12-4 win in the first game of their double header against the Colorado Rockies in Mexico City on Saturday.

After a tough start to the MLB season, which saw them struggling in the bottom of their division with a 7-19 record, the win was a huge relief to the Astros. The manner of the blowout win was impressive, and fans on social media believe that the team will now turn their season around and return to winning ways.

"Astros bounce back starts now," one tweeted.
"We might be back," added another.
"Maybe they should stay in Mexico," wrote @EdgeSportsApp on X.
"Yordan was eating today," added @WillTheSkillet.
"They will be fine," wrote @CrazyMonkey333.
"America's team is back," wrote @davides26713856.
"Woke up in Mexico," wrote @csm100207.
"Please keep it going for my sanity," wrote @Svt_Eric04.
"Let's go MexiStros!" wrote @5iv7vf.

While the Houston Astros were a selling team over the offseason in the winter, no one expected such a horrific start to their MLB regular season this year.

Their offense has especially struggled over the first month of the season, while the defense hasn't been good enough to carry the team on their own. Entering their series against Rockies in Mexico, Houston was on a five-game losing streak.

Hence, their statement win has been a huge relief for fans and the team. Trey Cabbage started the scoring for Houston with an RBI double in the second before Yordan Alvarez and Kyle Tucker homered to give them the lead in the third.

There was no looking back after that as their offence took charge, led by Alvarez who blasted another home run in the ninth inning.

Astros manager Joe Espada delighted after team records 15 hits vs Rockies

There's no doubt that the Houston Astros offence have struggled over the past month, but their victory against the Colorado Rockies had plenty of encouraging signs.

The lineup seems to have shaken off the slump, recording a total of 15 hits on the night. Speaking to the media after the game, Houston manager Joe Espada said:

“Today we were able to bat with runners in scoring positions, that's a good sign for the team. We took strong turns and we were able to spread the ball on the field, that really helped us today."

With most of the crowd in Mexico supporting them, Houston has a good chance of winning the second game and gaining some momentum in the MLB.
