Olivia Dunne and the baseball world watched as Paul Skenes put in a tremendous display at Wrigley Field on Saturday, with the Pittsburgh Pirates coming away with a 9-3 win. Dunne, who keeps her 5.1 million Instagram fans up to date with her daily life, took to the platform to share a photo of herself with model Brooks Nader:
"Love u the mostest! @brooksnader. Bayou Blondies," Dunne captioned her post.
Dunne and Nader were at the 2024 SI Swimsuit Issue launch party on Thursday, along with a host of big names including Brittany and Patrick Mahomes. Dunne spoke with SI about her NIL opportunities, which amount to $3.9 million (per On3):
“I’m blessed enough to have all these opportunities with Name Image and Likeness, and I just wanted to provide NIL opportunities for the women student-athletes at LSU.
"When I get a brand deal, the brand puts money into the Livvy Fund, and we partner other female student-athletes with the brand.”
Olivia Dunne proud of Paul Skenes' debut
While Paul Skenes was playing the Chicago Cubs last week, Olivia Dunne spoke on the broadcast about the importance of the moment:
"I have so many amazing memories with him, but I know how hard he’s worked for this moment. All the hours, I just know what a hard worker he is.
"This is probably one of my favorite moments I’ve ever seen. Seriously, there is nothing that can top this. I’m just so proud."
While Skenes looked solid on his debut, he upped the ante on Saturday. Skenes put in six scoreless innings, recording 11 strikeouts in the process. Paul Skenes has a 2.70 ERA across 10 innings in 2024 and is settling in nicely.
The Pirates recorded an important 9-3 win in Chicago, moving to 21-25. While Pittsburgh remains third in the NL Central, they gained a bit of ground on the 25-21 Cubs.
The 26-18 Milwaukee Brewers top the Central, and it will be interesting to see if the Pirates can put together a string of wins to mount a challenge for the division.
