The 2024 season has been a disaster for the Toronto Blue Jays. After coming into the new campaign with the expectations of reaching the postseason, Toronto finds themselves emerging as potential sellers this summer.

There was a belief that if the club was close to the rest of the division or a wild card spot, the team would not be looking to move some of their top stars like Vladimir Guerrero Jr. or Bo Bichette.

After looking like things were turning around, the Toronto Blue Jays sit last in the American League East and a whopping 13.5 games behind the division-leading Baltimore Orioles.

"AL East standings: T-1. Baltimore Orioles 51-30, T-1. New York Yankees 52-31, 3. Boston Red Sox 43-37 -- 7.5 GB, 4. Tampa Bay Rays 40-41 -- 11 GB, 5. Toronto Blue Jays 37-43 -- 13.5 GB. The Orioles are back in a share for first atop the AL East for the first time since May 13" - @jcalvinmeyer

It appears that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette could find themselves on the trade block this summer.

The lack of long-term contract extensions for Guerrero Jr. and Bichette has some believing that they could become candidates to be moved. According to MLB insider Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the team and players "never came close to agreement."

"Friday MLB notes: Blue Jays look good tonight vs struggling Yankees but are trending toward selling. If they do sell, Bo and Vlad Jr. (and others listed here) could be in play, plus more deadline notes" - @JonHeyman

If Toronto decides to trade either Bo Bichette or Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the team would likely be able to fetch a sizable package of prospects. We have seen stars such as Juan Soto help land their former clubs a haul of young talent, something that could entice the Blue Jays.

Bo Bichette has given an alarming answer when asked about his Blue Jays future

According to Heyman, it appears that Toronto has better odds of reaching a long-term agreement with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. than they do with Bo Bichette. Bichette is a young, talented shortstop who has been linked to several teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Jays reporter Hazel Mae spoke to Bo Bichette recently regarding his future with the club. The star's answer might have some fans worried. Mae asked him if he would be surprised if he were traded this summer, and his response was clear. “No. Not surprised at all," Bichette said.
