Bo Bichette has been missing from the Toronto Blue Jays roster since July 19th, when he was sidelined with a right calf injury. On Wednesday, manager John Schneider provided an update on the infielder's rehab, suggesting that the shortstop is making progress and may return to action shortly.
Schneider discussed Bichette's progress on the "Blair & Barker" podcast on the Sportsnet YouTube channel. Schneider highlighted the positive developments in Bichette's recovery and compared it to Romano’s ongoing rehabilitation.
“Bo just started doing some baseball activity yesterday down there," Schneider said. "He’s throwing, did some hitting in the cage, and is feeling good. I think getting him back will be great. Obviously, whenever that time is right for him physically, we’re looking forward to having him back.” said John Schneider (Time Stamp:50:00)
“Jordy is down in Florida, hasn’t started throwing yet but hopefully it’s pretty soon. He’s continuing to feel good every single day, but I think most likely we’ll see Bo before we see Jordan,” he added
Bo Bichette's persistent injuries issues has kept him off-field
The Toronto Blue Jays sidelined Bo Bichette due to the third calf strain of the season. The injury happened on July 19, 2024, when Bichette got hurt while sprinting to base following a line drive hit. This was in line with his calf issues this season.
Bichette has been dealing with injuries throughout the year. He had a right calf fascia strain on July 10. He had another issue with his calf towards the end of June. In 2023, he also had problems with his knee, making this season quite challenging for him health-wise.
Despite these challenges, the Blue Jays decided not to trade him during the deadline, aiming to help him recover and return to his form.
Bo Bichette's recovery and return to form are crucial for the Blue Jays.
