Olivia Dunne and Paul Skenes have been dating each other since 2022 after first meeting each other on the LSU campus. While Dunne is in her fifth and final year, representing the LSU gymnastics team, Skenes graduated in 2023, winning the College World Series before being picked first overall in the 2023 MLB draft.
Both are big names in their respective profession. Apart from being a gymnast, Dunne boasts an immense following on social media and has over $4.2 million valuation as per On3. Meanwhile, Skenes is fresh off winning NL Rookie of the Year in his debut season with the Pirates.
On Tuesday, through a TikTok video, Dunne gave followers five reasons Skenes has for which she proudly calls her "his man." She used lyrics from the "BMF" song by SZA to describe Skenes' character.
In the video, she lip-syncs the line "Young and he fine and he tall and he handsome, talkin' so fine," from the song, highlighting five qualities that she finds in her beau. She also added one more quality in her caption:
"Bonus points for the mustache."
Olivia Dunne's "fairytale" feeling for Paul Skenes' rookie season
Before the 2024 season, Olivia Dunne hardly ever attended an MLB game. However, when Paul Skenes made his big league debut in 2024, she was a constant presence in the suits of PNC Park.
The social media star accompanied the rookie on the 2024 MLB All-Star red carpet and also when he had his nerves high during the NL Rookie of the Year announcement in Nov. She jumped out in excitement when Skenes was named the winner of the award.
During the same setting, MLB interviewed Olivia Dunne, asking her to share her thoughts on Skenes' debut season in the majors.
“Watching Paul’s rookie season was like honestly watching a unicorn. It was like a fairy tale,” she said. “The thing that impressed me the most was how quickly he went through the minor leagues and went to the big leagues and dominated. It was so admirable.”
With baseball going into rest mode, and college gymnastics starting, the couple are once again grabbing headlines. Skenes was in attendance to support Dunne's LSU Tigers, who won their season opener against the Iowa State Cyclones on Friday night.
