Last week, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Brusdar Graterol was removed from the game against the Philadelphia Phillies after being in obvious pain. The club initially announced that he had suffered a Grade 3 hamstring strain, but it was later corrected to a Grade 1.
Being a Grade 1 strain is the most mild of the three grades, which is great news. It has allowed him to get back into the gym already and start training to return to the mound.
According to Mayo Clinic, Grade 1 strains can take a few days to two weeks to heal, so Graterol could potentially be back at any point over the next few weeks.
Brusdar Graterol is not the only Dodgers player that has suffered an injury
The Dodgers have been hit with a ton of injuries to their pitching staff this year. They have been without Yoshinobu Yamamoto since the middle of June, as well as Walker Buehler, Dustin May, Clayton Kershaw, and others.
This would be a major blow for many teams, but LA has been able to handle it well. They still lead the National League West with a record of 70-49 and have a major star back in their lineup.
Mookie Betts returned on Monday after nearly a two-month-long injury stint after he fractured his hand. He homered and stole a base in the team's win over the Milwaukee Brewers.
While Betts returned from the IL, some others could be following right behind him. Graterol could come off the IL at any point, given his injury is not too severe. Walker Buehler is also nearing his return and could be back before the series with the Brewers concludes. This is the perfect time for the club to be getting some quality players back.
