Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper has been trending on social media this offseason. Harper, along with wife Kayla, watched the College Football Playoff National Championship.
The two-time MVP and Kayla spent Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, as the Ohio State Buckeyes battled the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for the prestigious prize in collegiate sports.
Unbeknownst to some, Kayla (nee Varner), starred for the Buckeyes' soccer team during her collegiate days. A national All-American at Green Valley High School, Kaula was recruited by Brigham Young University where she first started her NCAA soccer career with in 2011 until 2012.
She then made a switch to Ohio State ahead of the 2013 campaign and remained there until 2015.
Bryce Harper and Kayla cheered for the Buckeyes, who claimed their ninth championship and first in a decade. Notre Dame opened the scoring in the first quarter, courtesy of senior quarterback Riley Leonard's touchdown to cap off a long-drive.
However, the Buckeyes burst the game wide open in the second quarter, scoring four straight touchdowns until the opening part of the third frame. Jeremiah Smitth and Quinshon Judkins, who scored three straight tuddies boosted the Buckeyes' lead to 21.
Jaden Greathouse pullled touchdowns back for the Fighting Irish, but Jeremiah Smith's catch in the closing moments, combined with Jayden Fielding's field goal sealed a 34-23 win for the Buckeyes.

Of all the things Bryce Harper has been known for throughout his career, being regularly online is not one of them. The star slugger has taken breaks from posting on Instagram and maintined a low-profile on social media. but things are changing for the two-time NL MVP.
Harper has been going viral on social media site TikTok for his coffee-making and baking skills.
His videos showcase his talent making iced vanilla latte, caramel cold brew, homemade bagels and banana bread, which have attracted at least 7.5 million views on TikTok.
