Since before he made it into MLB, Bryce Harper's wife Kayla Harper has been a major source of support and inspiration for the former MVP. Recently, Kayla took to the kitchen to show off her baking skillset.

On Friday, Kayla took to her Instagram to show off her talent. She posted a picture of a batch of homemade bagels, which looked like they were fresh out of the Harper family oven.

The post came just one day before Harper's Phillies were set to make their 2024 playoff debut against the New York Mets. Bitter divisional foes, perhaps Kayla's culinary crafts are meant to serve as a good tiding ahead of the clash.

A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kayla first met Bryce Harper when they were both High School students. Kayla was an esteemed soccer player in High School and at Brigham Young University in Utah as well as Ohio State, from where she graduated in 2015.

Following Harper's MLB debut with the 2012 Washington Nationals, their relationship became even more serious. In 2016, Harper and Kayla Varner said their marital vows and became a couple. The pair are now the proud parents to three children.

For Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies, the 2024 playoffs are momentous. After losing the 2022 World Series and making it to Game 7 of the NLCS last season, the expectations are sky-high for Harper's club, who finished the 2024 MLB season with 95 wins.

Bryce Harper's teammates look to him for leadership in the postseason

After a regular season that saw him hit .285 with 30 homers and 87 RBIs, Harper's teammates know that he will be the catalyst for postseason success. As Phillies DH Kyle Schwarber told ESPN about Harper:

"When opponents hear his name being called over the PA and they hear the walkup music and they see him walking to the plate, their heart starts fluttering, we all laugh about it, right? But everyone always thinks that something cool's going to happen. We all think that because he's proven it."

Maybe it will be on account of Kayla's bagels, but there is certainly an air of hope in Philly ahead of yet another postseason push.
