It was a night to remember for Shohei Ohtani on Tuesday. The Los Angeles Dodgers superstar competed in an MLB All-Star Game for the first time as a member of his new team. He also slugged the first All-Star home run of his career.

The potential National League MVP wasted little time putting on a show for fans, experts, and his colleagues as Ohtani proved why he is one of the best.

While he was busy showcasing his skills during the Midsummer Classic, there was a teammate on his National League All-Star squad who left an impression on him.

"I had an opportunity to get a pretty close-up look at Bryce Harper. The preparation that he does before the game... Bryce Harper stood out to me."

That is high praise from Ohtani, not only because of his own talent but because of the level of elite players who participated in the All-Star Game. While the two-way superstar was impressed with Harper, it was Jarren Duran who stole the show, winning the All-Star MVP Award.

Although the National League ended up losing the game, both Harper and Ohtani were impressive during the All-Star Game. Ohtani finished the night with a home run, walk, and three RBIs, whereas Harper ended the night with a double.

Shohei Ohtani may need to take down Bryce Harper if he hopes to win the World Series this year

While it may have been all smiles and respect between Ohtani and Harper in the All-Star Game, the two superstars may need to battle each other. Both players will hope to secure their first World Series title, and their paths may cross.

The Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers have been two of the most impressive teams in the National League this year. It suggests that they may end up facing off in the postseason.

Currently, the Phillies (62-34) and the Dodgers (56-41) have the two best records in the NL. This makes a potential juggernaut showdown something that fans will not want to miss.
