In little over a fortnight's time, the World Baseball Classic is set to return after six years. It will be held from March 7-21.
This will be the fifth edition of the international tournament, delayed by two years due to the pandemic. The event promises to be bigger and better this time, with the total number of participant nations increasing from 16 to 20 and the total number of games, amounting to 47.

World Baseball Classic venues and pools
The 2023 WBC will be hosted in four cities across three countries – the United States, Japan and Taiwan.
While the tournament will miss some big names, superstars like Mike Trout, Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani have confirmed their participation in the tournament. The Dominican Republic will start as favorites, boasting a star-studded lineup consisting of Juan Soto, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Julio Rodriguez, Rafael Devers and Sandy Alcantara.
The games to be held in the U.S. will be played in Miami and Phoenix. Tokyo will be the city hosting the WBC in Japan and Taichung is the venue chosen for Taiwan.

The top two teams from each group will proceed to the quarterfinals. The finals will be held in Miami.
