Alex Rodriguez and the rest of the New York Yankees 2009 World Series-winning roster are gearing up for their reunion during Old Timers' Day. In an Instagram video shared, A-Rod commemorated the victory by sharing highlights from the final moments of Game 6.
Rodriguez can be seen sharing the screen with Hall of Fame closer Mariano Rivera with the text, "What's a memory that's burned in your mind forever?" The video then cuts to Rivera pitching the final innings in game 6 of the 2009 Fall Classic, with the Yankees eventually winning 7-3.
"Can’t believe it’s been 15 years since this game in 2009, one of the proudest moments of my life. Excited to celebrate with the gang this weekend," Alex captioned the video.

Rodriguez joined the Yankees in 2004 after an unsuccessful three-year spell with the Texas Rangers. At the time, he was in the fourth year of his 10-year $252 million contract, the most lucrative contract at the time. In his first five seasons, the title eluded him.
But in 2009, the Yankees roster won 103 games for a postseason spot. They defeated the Minnesota Twins in the AL Division Series and won the AL Championship Series against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. They completed their success with a 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series.
The victory remains the last time the Yanks made it to the showcase encounter. It was their 27th World Series win in their 40th appearance.
Alex Rodriguez set to be honored for the first time on Old Timer's Day
Alex Rodriguez's trip to the Bronx on the 24th will be his first invitation to Old Timer's Day after retiring in 2016. His last season was also current captain Aaron Judge's first season. Other members of the 2009 winning team, including Rivera, then captain Derek Jeter and Hideki Matsuki, are also expected to be there.
The honorary ceremony will be followed by the team's afternoon game against the Colorado Rockies. However, the Old Timer's game and/or batting practice have been canceled for the third straight year.
