After just a month of acquiring Tommy Pham, the St. Louis Cardinals have placed the veteran outfielder on waivers. While on waivers, Pham can continue playing for the Cardinals until some other team claims him.

With the season not going anywhere for the Cardinals, they are seemingly thinking about the future, and saving a spot for a veteran doesn't seem to be in their best interests. However, it didn't go down well online, with fans trolling and criticizing the club on the internet.

"Lmao why trade for him," one fan asked.
"Cards are a joke of a franchise," another commented.
"Welp, that was fast. The Cardinals are screwing fans over," one fan added.
"I always find it funny when a team trades for a dude and then drops just a few weeks later," another fan said.

Some fans talked about his next destination instead:

"Pick him up White Sox," one fan said.
"@Phillies hurry!" another wrote.
"Bet that was a real slap in the face," another commented.

Teams looking to add Tommy Pham to their postseason roster will need to claim him off waivers before Sept. 1.

The Cardinals acquired Pham on July 29 as part of a three-team deal with the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers. Along with Pham, starting pitcher Erick Fedde moved from Chicago to St. Louis.

Atlanta Braves is one possible destination for Tommy Pham

The Cardinals were hoping for a good second half with them acquiring both Fedde and Pham at the trade deadline. However, their record has gone from bad to worse, with FanGraphs giving them only a 1.2% chance of making the postseason.

The Atlanta Braves (73-61) may look to claim Tommy Pham off waivers. Seeing Pham being great against lefties (.828 career OPS), he could be used over Michael Harris II, who has a .617 OPS against Southpaws this season. Moreover, with Adam Duvall struggling of late, going 4-of-33, there's a chance of him getting time in the outfield while also adding depth.

The Braves are currently holding on to the Wild Card Spot and could use Tommy Pham's experience with the postseason now just over a month away.
