Former World Series winner CC Sabathia added another accolade to his illustrious resume after the former Cy Young winner was named a first-ballot Hall of Famer on Tuesday.

The six-time All-Star had a 19-year-long stint in the MLB, most notably for the Cleveland Indians (now Cleveland Guardians) and the New York Yankees, with a brief stint in Milwaukee. Sabathia becomes only the third left-handed pitcher to be inducted in Cooperstown, joining icons Steve Carlton and Randy Johnson on an elite list.

Following the news of his induction, Sabathia's wife Amber penned a heartfelt note for the first-ballot Hall of Famer on Instagram. She captioned a montage of Sabathia's career, writing:

"23 seasons from Vallejo to the big leagues, 3 teams, 4 kids, and many chapters along the way, I'm so proud to be alongside this journey with you CC, now officially as a first ballot Hall of Famer! You're an incredible husband, son, father, teammate, friend and so much more for our family. You earned this every step of the way.
"We wouldn't be here without the support of our loved ones who came to witness the call in person and all those leading up to this moment who supported his career. Thank you to the voters for the recognition and we're so appreciative of sharing this with everyone who made an impact on his #LegaCCy. Love you all!"

His former Yankees teammate Derek Jeter's sister Sharlee reacted to the post by commenting:

"No one more deserving !! Congrats to you all!!"

Another former Yankees teammate, Carlos Beltran's wife Jessica reacted to the post. All-Star starter Carlos Rodon's wife, Ashley, also commented on the post, writing:

"Congratulations to you both! Takes a team!"

CC Sabathia's former Yankees captain praises All-Star pitcher's Hall of Fame selection

C Sabathia was an integral part of the last Yankees team to win a World Series in 2009. Sabathia's Yankees captain and former teammate Derek Jeter acknowledged the ace's Hall of Fame selection, saying:

“During my career with the Yankees, I had the honor of playing with so many talented players. No player exemplified a Hall-of-Fame player and person more than CC Sabathia. His career on the field speaks for itself, but it’s his career as a teammate that stands out the most. I look forward to welcoming CC to Cooperstown.”

Jeter is a first-ballot Hall of Famer and remains one of the most influential names in Yankees history. He led the team to five Words Series titles during his stellar career and fell just one vote short of a unanimous induction in 2020.

Sabathia is joined by Seattle Mariners legend and former Yankees teammate Ichiro Suzuki in the Hall of Fame Class of 2025. Suzuki, like Jeter, also fell short by one vote in his bid for a unanimous induction.
