Justin Verlander's wife Kate Upton is a well-known supermodel who has graced the covers of top magazines, including the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
In the latest "CR Fashion Book Issue 25: Love & Fantasies," which will be out on Oct. 28, Upton gave fans a deep dive into the modeling world
While Verlander prepares for another deep postseason run with the Astros, Upton shared what it feels like to be a model and live up to people's expectations.
"...With all of this attention and fame, it felt like people were claiming my body as theirs, or putting those expectations on me for what they wanted me to be." Upton told Sebastian Faena in the interview.
"I think that people like to see others in a way that they can digest," Upton said.
Justin Verlander's wife Kate Upton isn't buying the whole calorie-counting stigma to stay in shape
Over the past few months, Kate Upton has openly talked about stereotypes in the modeling world. In August, the founder of Vosa Spirits, who has always advocated natural ways to enhance one's beauty, dismissed the stigma of counting calories to stay in shape
While talking about staying in shape with Fox News Digital, Upton said:
"Inside-out beauty is a big part of who I am. I don’t believe in calorie counting. I believe in having high-end ingredients, so you’re giving yourself premium fuel. For me, food is fuel and what you’re putting in your body is what your body is going to give back to you.
"So if you’re looking for energy, a better mood … or strength, you need to know what you’re putting in your body. It’s not just about counting calories."
Upton also mentioned that her diet consists of eating organic food, with vegetables making a big portion of it. She added:
"Once you detox from preservatives and refined sugar, your body will tell you what it needs."
Upton's advocating for a natural lifestyle is in stark contrast with modern stigmas of believing in artificial ways to improve one's lifestyle and beauty.
