On Thursday, Cody Bellinger was introduced to the New York Yankees' media for the first time. The star talked about his excitement for joining such a storied franchise.

However, that was not all that came from his introductory press conference. A screenshot was captured of the former National League MVP, where he looks a bit out of it.

Fans could not help but notice that the slugger looked as if he was stoned. This is something that has come up on a few occasions, especially when he was a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Much like Tim Lincecum was when he played, Bellinger is often depicted as the "league's stoner." With this screenshot, he surely has not helped his case.

"He looks stoned" one fan posted.
"First hot person to ever play for the Yankees, this is so sick and twisted" said another.
"Does he not know he's not allowed to look high anymore?" said another.

Bellinger has stated multiple times in the past that he does not smoke weed. Somehow, he tends to look "faded" in pictures, even when he was in the Little League World Series, per his own words.

"He has no clue where he is" said another.
"Faded already? Bro it's 11:27 am" said another.
"He looks like he just ate a pound of edibles" said another.

Acquiring Cody Bellinger made a ton of sense for the Yankees

After the Chicago Cubs traded for Houston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker, it was almost a guarantee that Cody Bellinger would be traded. The Chicago outfield became too crowded, and Bellinger had value.

All it took on the Yankees' side was parting ways with Cody Poteet. Poteet has had some strong performances in the Bronx, but it was a no-brainer to send him to Chicago for the two-time All-Star.

Bellinger is not the same player he was when he won his NL MVP Award in 2019, but is still a good player regardless. This past season, he started 130 games, hitting .266/.325/.426 with 18 home runs and 78 runs batted in.

He should benefit from his new stadium. According to Statcast, the slugger would have had 24 home runs if he were playing in Yankee Stadium instead of the 18 he produced.

With Bellinger, the Bronx Bombers are going to be a team fans will want to keep their eye on.
