On Friday, shortstop Cole Tucker's wife, Vanessa Hudgens, took to Instagram to share a series of stories expressing her heartbreak after witnessing the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.

"Watching the news non stop. So heartbroken for my city," Hudgens wrote. My heart goes out to and breaks with my fellow Angelenos who have lost everything. Not just material things that are irreplaceable like family photos but also the homes they built their lives in. The memories. The life. The comfort. A home is our refuge.
"Be grateful for the roof over your head and whatever you can do to help means a lot. My family and I are safe but there are many who aren't. Please pray for LA and our residents," she added.

Per reports, the north of the city has been hit the hardest by the wildfires, namely the Palisades and Eaton areas. The dry California weather, lack of rainfall and strong winds are considered as the main factors that have contributed to the fires becoming as large and devastating as they have.

The fire initially broke out shortly after the new year and seemingly shows no signs of letting up anytime soon. So far, over 10 people have reportedly been killed due to the fires.

Cole Tucker's wife Vanessa Hudgens takes to Instagram to wish fans a happy new year

On Jan. 3, Vanessa Hudgens took to Instagram to share a series of snaps with her husband, as the couple ushered in the new year in each other's company.

"I’m so late but happy new years loves!!! Hope everyone’s having a beautiful start to it!!" Vanessa Hudgens captioned her Instagram post.

For Cole Tucker, the 2024 season was another one where opportunities to take to the diamond were few and far between. The 28-year-old spent the 2024 season in Anaheim, on the books of the Los Angeles Angels, but only got to play a total of 34 games between the major leagues and triple-A level. Previously, Tucker has played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Colorado Rockies.

Once the Angels' season came to an end, Tucker opted to become a free agent. For now, the shortstop can look to spend plenty of quality time with his wife and young child, who was born midway through 2024.

With the new season on the horizon, though, Tucker still has a big decision to make regarding his future.
