"Thank you to all the firefighters out there risking their lives," the actress wrote in her Instagram story.

Hudgens is a native Californian, born in Salinas, and raised along parts of the West Coast.

The Wildfires have had five confirmed casualties, with 2,000 structures destroyed or damaged. The fire started on Tuesday, with four major ones breaking out around the Greater Los Angeles Area.

The Palisades fire was the biggest among the areas affected, as more than 15,800 acres of land along with 1,000 structures got torched. It burned multimillion-dollar structures along the Pacific Coast Highway in the famous Malibu and neighboring Topanga Beach.

The Eaton fire, meanwhile, smoldered 10,600 acres of land in Altadena and Pasadena. It was also in the Eaton wildfire where the five casualties of the disaster were confirmed from.

Two more significant fires, the Sunset fire and Hurst fire, are yet to be fully contained by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

"Devil Winds" caused wildfires

For the residents of Southern California, wildfires aren't rare, as they have been grappling with the disaster for a while. However, the latest one is said to be caused by what are called the "Devil Winds."

The Santa Ana winds, sometimes known as "Devil Winds," are naturally occurring winds that cycle through coastal Southern California. The wind is characterized as an extremely dry, katabatic (flowing downhill) that generate from mountainous areas of the region.

What transpired on Tuesday was the Santa Ana wind gusting between 50 to 100 miles an hour. That, in turn, expedited the spread of the fires from the Palisades to neighboring areas.

Outgoing-US president Joe Biden traveled to Santa Monica, California, and stood side-by-side with California Governor Gavin Newsom. He expressed his support for the people of the state and said that all resources available have been mobilized to help with the raging fire.

We at Sportskeeda send our thoughts and prayers to the people of California and to those who are affected by the fires.
