Dansby Swanson and his wife, Mallory, are an absolute power couple. The duo both have had successful careers in their respective sports and are still going strong.
Dansby handles shortstop for the Chicago Cubs while Mallory is a forward in soccer, and currently plays for Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics. She came up huge in the championship matchup against Brazil, scoring a goal that led to a gold medal.
Mallory scored the goal following 60 minutes of scoreless action. This was USWNT's first gold medal in the last 12 years.
Not to be outdone by his wife, Dansby is coming into Saturday's matchup against the Chicago White Sox with a career milestone in reach. He is one hit away from 1,000 for his career.
A hit would make for one magical night. While the couple would not be able to celebrate in person, Mallory will surely be tuning in to root for her husband.
Mallory holds the bragging rights over Dansby Swanson in athletic success
Mallory and Dansby Swanson got married in late 2022. This came a year after the slugger had won a World Series ring with the Atlanta Braves.
At the time, Dansby had the bragging rights in the household for who was the more successful athlete. Now, Dansby has to take a backseat, because it is hard to do better than win an Olympic gold medal.
However, Dansby does have a chance at an Olympic gold medal. Baseball will be back in the Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028. All MLB players are eligible to play, and stars like Aaron Judge have hinted at participating.
With what his wife just did, we could see the Cubs slugger committing to representing the USA.
