Ortiz welcomed his youngest son, Diego, with his girlfriend, Maria Yeribel, in April 2024. He has three other children, a son, D'Angelo, and daughters, Alexandra and Jessica, with ex-wife Tiffany.

Following in the footsteps of his father, D'Angelo Ortiz is also a talented baseball player. The 20-year-old was drafted by his dad's former team, the Boston Red Sox, in the 19th round of the 2024 MLB draft.

David Ortiz says potential acquisition of Alex Bregman may be the final step to help Red Sox qualify for playoffs

To improve their squad for 2025, the Red Sox have made a several acquisitions in the winter, seemingly identifying their pitching staff as the area that needs most improvement.

On Sunday, David Ortiz sat down to have a chat with NESN's Tom Caron, talking about how he felt the acquisition of another great bat would complete the squad, seemingly hinting at the acquisition of free agent Alex Bregman.

"The pitching is playoff pitching. The pitching that we have right now, I believe. So we line up a couple of thunders in the lineup -the Kinghoff, Rafi, and the rest of the boys, and one good bat; Ihthink we'll do it. There's one out there. We know that. Let's try," Ortiz said

With spring training set to start in less than a month, the Red Sox must move fast if they wish to secure the services of Alex Bregman. Along with his offensive production, the 30-year-old will offer the Red Sox's batting lineup some additional balance as a right-handed bat, with the team's other prominent hitters, Jarren Duran and Rafael Devers, both being lefties.
