Life comes at you fast as an MLB player and that seems to be the case for Los Angeles Dodgers' Jason Heyward. The veteran slugger, who was the hero for the NL West leaders a couple of days ago was sent for assignment on Thursday.

The former World Series winner came in clutch for the Dodgers on Tuesday, pinch-hitting for his team and dispatching a tie-breaking three-run home run in the eighth inning to help his team to a 6-3 win over the Seattle Mariners.

However, 24 hours later, the organization decided to move the veteran outfielder to make room on the roster for the now-activated utilityman Chris Taylor.

Despite Heyward's shortcomings since signing for the Dodgers, fans were surprised by the decision, calling out the team for disrespecting the five-time Gold Glove winner.

"Did him dirty after his go-ahead homer for them the other night."
"This team is stupid."
"Didn’t he just win them the game 2 days ago," wrote another fan.

Several fans weren't too sure if adding Chris Tayor to the roster over Heyward was a good move.

"What a mistake! Even if he hits .175 for the remainder of the season he does more for the club than CT3," argued a fan.
"Over Chris can’t hit Taylor!? Guys… come on," wrote another fan.
"He just hit a pinch hit 3 run shot to win them the game and now this? Sheesh," expressed a fan.

Jason Heyward signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers in 2023 after being released by the Chicago Cubs. While the veteran outfielder showed signs of life with a 15-home run campaign last year, he hit a slump this season with injuries serving as a double blow.

Max Muncy hails 'incredible' Jason Heyward

Jason Heyward's clutch performance on Tuesday raised hopes of a bench role for the veteran slugger, however, with the Dodgers aspiring for a strong postseason run and players coming back from injuries, it wasn't to be.

Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy, who has been red-hot over the past few weeks for the team, acknowledged the efforts of his senior teammate after the news of his assignment.

He said:

“He is the definition of a pro with everything he does in this clubhouse and on that field. We wouldn't be where we are today without him ... he's an incredible teammate, an incredible human being, and an incredible player.”
