Dodgers vs Mets Series Preview & Prediction: Records, Pitching Matchups and More - MLB Season 2024

The Los Angeles Dodgers have not been as red-hot as many expected them to be to start the season. They still have a solid record and loads of talent but enter this series with the New York Mets in need of proving themselves a bit.

The Mets, meanwhile, have surprised so far after being tabbed as a potential last-place squad. Here's what to expect in this series.

Dodgers vs. Mets Preview

Dodgers, Mets Records

The New York Mets come in with a 10-8 record. They got off to a difficult start but have since come on rebounded to have an above .500 record. The Dodgers, meanwhile, are a bit underwhelming right now, going 12-9 despite boasting an All-Star roster.

For the New York Mets, Sean Manaea (1-1, 4.30 ERA) will get the start against Yoshinobu Yamamoto (4.50 ERA) in Game 1. That's the only established starter for the Dodgers, who will determine Game 2 and 3 later.

Game 2 will have Jose Butto and his sterling 0.75 ERA start against whoever Los Angeles tabs. The series finale sees Adrian Houser close things out for the Mets.

Dodgers and Mets Predictions

The New York Mets are playing pretty well this season, especially when considering how inactive they were in free agency and how poor they were last season. In fact, they're just 1.5 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in record.

However, there's a talent gap here that should play out. The Dodgers are at home, and they eventually have to start playing like the star-studded team they truly are. Look for the Dodgers to sweep this one.

Dodgers vs. Mets Channels

The Los Angeles Dodgers play on Spectrum SportsNet LA, which is where local fans can catch all three games.

The New York Mets play on SNY most of the time, and that's where Game 1 will be for New York audiences. The other two games will be on WPIX. FS1 will have the national broadcast for Game 2, while Game 3 is on MLB Network.
