Dodges will face Yankees for the series finale on June 9th Sunday
Dodges will face Yankees for the series finale on June 9th Sunday

LA Dodgers have returned to their winning ways after two back-to-back wins against the New York Yankees after losing the series against the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1. One of the most anticipated series of this season, which many thought would be a close neck-to-neck battle ultimately seems to have turned out to be a one-sided contest with the Dodgers thrashing the Yanks to a 2-1 and 11-3 scorelines on Friday and Saturday respectively.

Dave Roberts would surely be happy with the results and would want them to extend their lead to complete the clean sweep against one of MLB's most formidable teams this season.

Aaron Boone, on the other hand, would surely look forward to turning things around for his team. The good news for his side is that their star player Juan Soto might probably be back on the plate to hit against the Dodgers on Sunday after being out on Saturday due to forearm inflammation.

Yankees vs. Dodgers: Preview

The series finale between both these teams will start at 7:10 PM ET at Yankees stadium. Fans can view the live telecast on ESPN, and the live stream can be viewed on Fubo TV.

Dodgers are currently at the top of the NL West with a 41-25 record, while the Yankees are at the top of the AL East division with a 45-21 record.

Yankees vs. Dodgers: Head-to-Head

Both the teams have have faced each other 21 times, including the two most recent faceoffs. The Yanks had an upper hand in this rivalry but the Dodgers have turned that around and now have a slight upper hand against the Yanks with an 11-10 record.

Yankees vs. Dodgers: Pitching Matchups

Dodgers' offseason acquisition, Tyler Glasnow, is set to start on the mound for his team on Sunday. The 30-year-old RHP has played and started 13 games for his side so far this season with a 6-4 record along with an ERA of 2.93, WHIP of 0.90, and 104 strikeouts.

Luis Gil will start on the mound for the Yankees in the series finale. The young Yankee has played and started 12 games this season. He has a record of 8-1 along with an ERA of 1.82, a WHIP of 0.92, and 85 strikeouts under his belt.

Yankees vs Dodgers: Prediction

After two great shows of strength from the Dodgers, they are surely the favorites to win the third game of this series and clean sweep the Yankees. Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Teoscar Hernandez, Glasnow, and the rest of the team would surely try their utmost to repeat the two previous successes this time as well.

For the Yankees, it has been a tough series so far. Losing two back-to-back games must be very disappointing for a team like the Bronx Bombers and they would surely try to get on the winning track once again. If Juan Soto gets back on the lineup, it will surely help players like Aaron Judge, Marcus Stroman, Alex Verdugo, and the rest of the team raise their morale.
