After a historic comeback in Game 5 thanks to some sloppy defense, they have captured the eighth title in franchise history. How did the Dodgers earn a World Series title?
This gear is only available because the Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series. They did so off the strength of a stellar run through the first three games. A Freddie Freeman walk-off grand slam earned the opening win and provided momentum for the next two.
The Yankees bounced back in Game 4 by trouncing the Dodgers' bullpen and putting up 11 runs. In Game 5, they had a 5-0 lead in the fifth inning when three inexplicable defensive mistakes cost them and allowed the Dodgers to come back and tie it.
Later, two sacrifice flies got the Dodgers the lead after Giancarlo Stanton got New York back in front temporarily. An Aaron Judge double and a Jazz Chisholm Jr. walk were the only pieces of a rally the Yankees made from there, and they went down easily in the ninth to secure the title for LA.
