Baltimore Orioles star prospect Jackson Holliday continued his rejuvenated second stint in the majors, registering his first four-hit game during Friday's run-fest against the Boston Red Sox at Camden Yards.

Holliday went 4-5 on the night with three singles and a triple, scored three runs and drove one in a 12-10 loss to the Red Sox.

He became the youngest player in franchise history since 1954 to have four hits and three runs in a single game.

It's a remarkable turnaround since his first stint earlier in the season, where he went 2-for-34 and was consequently optioned by the Orioles.

Holliday's performance drew applause from fans on social media.

"Him going back down to the minors to reset did wonders," one fan commented.

"He has arrived🔥," another wrote,

"Dude is on an absolute terror," one fan said.

Many called out those who had criticized Holliday's first stint in the majors.

"It’s almost like he was the best prospect in baseball lol. Crazy when people were giving him crap at the start of the year man. Kids elite," one fan wrote.

Jackson Holliday became the second-youngest Orioles player to have four hits in a single game

The MLB's No. 1 prospect became the second youngest player behind Orioles legend Brooks Robinson, to register four hits in a game in franchise history.

Jackson Holliday was 20 years and 256 days old when he achieved it on Friday. When Robinson did it, he was 20 years and 130 days old. After the game, when Holliday learned of the record, he said:

“That’s quite something. Obviously, very special to be able to share that with him. Hopefully, many more in the future.”

Interestingly, Holliday made his major league debut against the same team, the Red Sox, on July 10. He went 0-8 in his first two games and now returned with an emphatic performance.

“It was pretty awesome to do that against a team that I debuted against and didn’t do quite well,” Holliday said. “It sucks that we lost. It happens.”

Holliday's at-bats are now a major plus for the Orioles, who are in a two-way battle with the New York Yankees to finish at the top of the AL East. The Orioles (72-51) are a game behind the Yankees.
