The Los Angeles Dodgers turned the tables after two consecutive losses against the San Diego Padres with an 8-0 win in the NLDS Game 4 on Wednesday. The Padres offense came under fire after the shutout loss, especially right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr., who fell on the ground in his at-bat against Michael Kopech.
In the bottom third inning with the Dodgers leading 5-0, Kopech threw a high fastball. The fastball flew over Tatis Jr.'s head and the hitter lost his balance falling on the floor trying to dodge the ball.
The fans felt it was an overreaction from Tatis Jr. since the baseball was far from hitting him.
"Not even close. Dude is a drama queen," one fan said.
"That man belongs in Hollywood," one fan stated.
Other fans shared the same sentiment about the dramatic fall.
"He flops almost good enough to play in the NBA," one fan remarked.
"The ball was not even close to him. Typical over reaction by Tatis," one fan mentioned.
"I am fully convinced Tatis overreacted on purpose to get a reaction from the fans," one fan predicted.
"There so extra! super emotional team of guys!!!" One fan wrote.
Fernando Tatis Jr talks about the Padres' Game 4 loss
The Los Angeles Dodgers debunked all the talks about the team going through a pitching struggle as they trapped the Padres hitters in a deadlock. Fernando Tatis Jr. acknowledged Dodgers were the better team as they executed their plans against the Padres hitters.
"They just executed their bullpen, they attacked us. We just need to get a better approach on the plate. They executed their pitches today, and man just better at-bat as a group," Tatis Jr. said.
Following two consecutive defeats, the Dodgers did well to not only shut the Padres offense but also silence a hostile crowd at Petco Park. A defeat would have ended the Dodgers and Shohei Ohtani's aspirations of a World Series run but the series is tied 2-2 after the win on Wednesday.
The Dodgers will travel home for the NLDS-deciding Game 5 in Los Angeles as Dodger Stadium hosts the Padres on Friday.
