The MLB offseason activities are in full swing as teams prepare for the next campaign. Recently, the Washington Nationals came to an agreement with former Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Amed Rosario.
Rosario became a free agent after the 2024 season and was in search of a new team. His search came to an end when the Washington Nationals came calling. The Nationals signed the former Cincinnati Reds player on a one-year deal worth $2 million.
On Wednesday, New York Post's Jon Heyman shared the news through an X post.
"Amed Rosario to Nats. $2 million."
The news of the Nationals obtaining Amed Rosario's services got a variety of reactions from the fans as they replied to Jon Heyman's post and expressed their opinions.
Some fans looked at the deal as a good one and received the news on a positive note.
"Wow great deal," a fan wrote.
"Nice pickup for Washington," a fan said.
"2 million for him is a steal," another fan wrote.
"Wow that’s quite the steal for 2M," one fan stated.
"Easily better than Mets now!" another fan said.
While there were positive reactions from these fans, some others had a different point of view. They listed other prominent names in the MLB who are still without a team and whose future is not decided yet.
"And yet Alonso and Bregman still don't have a home," one fan remarked.
Amed Rosario spent the 2024 season with three different teams as he will call Washington home now
Before being able to land a one-year deal with the Washington Nationals, in the 2024 season, Amed Rosario had three short stints at three different teams. Rosario played for the Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds before becoming a free agent.
He played a total of 103 games in the 2024 season where he hit .280/.306/.380. With 32 RBIs, he managed to steal 13 bases and hit three homers throughout the 2024 season.
Now that Rosario has Washington to call home, at least for the 2025 season, it would be interesting to see how he contributes to his new team's 2025 campaign.
