Yankees fans are always known to speak their mind even if their players do not perform well. While the team has performed great in the last week, there are still a few loopholes in the pitching squad.

Nestor Cortes Jr. and Marcus Stroman have not been up to the mark of late. Yet, it's hard to say they have not contributed. Cortes and Stroman had their fair share of success at the start of the season. Now that Clarke Schmidt is set to return, there could be a few changes in the starting rotation.

Fireside Yankees shared a post on social media asking fans who should be moved out of the rotation on Schmidt's return. Yankee fans were quick to respond with their suggestions. Several names, including Cortes and Stroman, were suggested to be removed from the lineup.

Here's a look at some of the fan reactions on X/Twitter.

"Easy, it’s Nestor!!" wrote one fan.
"Stroman… he’s 110% the odd man out," one fan added
"It’s Nestor but Stroman makes a strong case too," another fan responded.

Comments continued to flow as fans trolled Cortes.

"The only meatballer on the roster who tries to compensate with goofy leg kicks," wrote one fan referring to Cortes.
"Stroman has been terrible for a long time now. He already got the boot today looks like......he's not pitching in the double header according to reports," one fan chipped in.
"Nestor or Stro. Pick one. Flip a coin. Play rock-paper-scissors," one fan chimed in.

Clarke Schmidt remains confident on his return to the Yankees lineup

The Yankees are going to have a better pitching lineup once Schmidt returns. Believe it or not, the talented pitcher has left a void in the team's rotation. Schmidt remains confident on his return, and he sees a clear path to pitching in the majors soon.

Schmidt had a great start to the season holding a 2.52 ERA. He pitched 60-plus innings and struck out 67 opponent hitters. With a 5-3 record and a strong 1.14 WHIP, Schmidt should bolster the team's pitching rotation. The Yanks could use some extra firepower, especially in the playoffs.
