Justin Verlander's wife Kate Upton returned to Hollywood after a six-year hiatus, starring in "Sweet Dreams," released earlier this year on Apr. 12, 2024. She joined the star-studded cast including Johnny Knoxville who is the central character of the story.
"Sweet Dreams" follows a man named Morris (played by Knoxville) who is forced into rehab and is tasked to coach a softball team of recovering addicts "to win a cash prize and prove that everyone, despite their past, can hit a home run."
Speaking to Good Morning America in Apr. 2024, on why she chose this particular film to make her return, Upton said:
"It's a really great story about a man becoming sober and truly relying on his community to heal. When I read the script, I was so excited to be part of that narrative and to contribute to a story that embraces the hard recovery journey while also highlighting how important it is to heal and better yourself."
As she rose to fame as a supermodel in the early 2010s, Upton made her acting debut by starring in "Tower Heist" released in 2011. The following year, she was part of the comedy movie "The Three Stooges."
Before returning to the big screen in 2024, she last played a part in an animation series named "Robot Chicken," where she gave voice to French Baker, Unsinkable Molly Brown in the episode named "Your Mouth is Hanging off Your Face."
Kate Upton asks for legal advice highlighting one particular scary incident
Over the last few years, Kate Upton has used her platform to spread awareness and break stereotypes in the world of modeling and fashion. Recently she came across an apparent emergency situation that involved a drunk father with a daughter traveling in a cab.
“Truly asking … lawyers/judges/advocates/parents: A Dad, recently out of rehab is traveling alone with his 10-year-old daughter,” Upton, wrote via her Nov. 15 Instagram story. “He gets drunk and high on pills, says he has a gun on him and threatens to SHOOT the taxi driver if he does NOT drop them off on the highway at midnight to walk home.”
“Thankfully, the taxi driver refuses and would rather be shot than drop the little girl off on the highway. Is this an emergency? A crime? Would you be scared for your child?” she added.
Kate Upton, who is a mother herself, then went on to ask her followers regarding the situation with a feedback box to know their answers.
Through this, Upton highlighted concern with children's safety especially with parents who are addicts and or have just come out of rehab.
