Jazz Chisholm Jr. was traded to the New York Yankees as the deal involving the Miami Marlins became official on Sunday. In exchange, the Marlins received three prospects, namely catcher Agustin Ramirez (Yankees' No. 20 prospect), infielder Jared Serna (No. 19 prospect) and infielder Abrahan Ramirez.
Chisholm Jr. played his first game as a Yankee against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday at Fenway Park. He went 1-5 and scored one run, batting fifth in the lineup. The Yankees won the game 8-2 on the back of impressive hitting from Gleyber Torres, Juan Soto and Aaron Judge.
"It was super exciting. I mean, every kid dreams of being a Yankee," Chisholm Jr. told reporters on his debut with the Yankees. "You know, it's the most famous team in baseball that Derek Jeter played on. Everybody's favorite player was Derek Jeter growing up. I had him as an owner, so I just feel like it was only right to come on and put on the uniform."

Aaron Judge and Yankees manager full of praise for "dynamic" Jazz Chisholm Jr.
It seems the clubhouse has liked the move for Jazz Chisholm Jr. ahead of the trade deadline. Yankees captain Aaron Judge was in awe of his defensive attributes, including being able to play everywhere and found him a dynamic player.
“He’s a dynamic player,” Judge said via MLB.com. “You can throw him up at the leadoff spot or wherever, he’s going to definitely lengthen this lineup. He’s a weapon. You can put him on the outfield, anywhere in the infield. He’s got speed, he’s got power and all of us are pretty excited to have him on board.”
Yankees manager Aaron Boone also spoke about his versatility on both sides of the plate.
“We’re excited to get a talent like his,” Boone said. “We think his skill set will play at Yankee Stadium. He’s got power, he has tremendous speed, he’s got position versatility. He plays with a lot of energy and a lot of pizzazz.”
Before coming to the Yankees, Jazz Chisholm Jr. played 101 games for the Marlins, averaging .249 along with 11 home runs and 22 stolen bases.
