Padres star outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. is enjoying the offseason in his home country alongside his friends and family. In his latest social media post, Tatis showed his followers his underwater swimming talent while taking a dip in a serene backwater lake in the Dominican Republic with his friends.

Fernando Tatis Jr. had a decent season with the Padres in 2024, which saw the ballclub come close to sealing off a berth for the NLCS against the Mets, but unfortunately fell short against the eventual Fall Classic champions — the LA Dodgers — in five games of the NLDS.
Tatis Jr. was signed as an international free agent by the Chicago White Sox in 2015. The very next year, he was traded to Padres when he was just 17. He spent a little over two seasons in the minor leagues with San Diego before earning the call-up for a big league start in 2019.
Since then, the young slugger has been leading the ballclub through some heroic wins. Before the start of the 2021 season, he had signed a blockbuster deal with the Padres, which stood at a whopping $340 million for 14 years.
He produced one of the most formidable stat lines of his MLB career in 2021. That year, he registered a .282 batting average, 42 home runs, 97 RBIs and .975 OPS. After sitting out for the entire 2022, season his form slightly dipped in 2023 despite playing 141 games.
Fernando Tatis Jr. had a decent 2024 MLB season with the Padres
Fernando Tatis Jr. registered a decent stat line in the recently culminated season. He had a .276 batting average, with 21 home runs, 49 RBIs and 1 .833 OPS, which also included 43 extra base hits and 11 stolen bases.
He crushed four home runs and drove in seven runs during the 2024 postseason with a .423 batting average.
He earned the second All-Star nod of his MLB career in 2024 and has previously won two silver slugger awards, one gold glove award, and has made it to the All-MLB First team twice in 2020 and 2021.
