A magical season for David Peralta and the San Diego Padres came to an end in the NLDS in five games against the LA Dodgers. The Padres' offense went cold, and the season they didn't expect to have came to a close. On Monday, Peralta took to Instagram to finally address the season and the fans.

He captioned his post:

"I want to say thank you to all of the wonderful San Diego Padres fans for all your support all season long. Thanks to all my teammates for an unforgettable season. Thanks to all of the coaches, manager, staff and front office for all of your trust and support during the season. On behalf my family and I, THANK YOU SAN DIEGO."

It was a touching tribute to the effort that went into a stellar season for the Friars. After trading Juan Soto and shedding payroll, they got better and looked like a legitimate contender.

Star players like Fernando Tatis Jr., Luis Arraez, Jurickson Profar and Jeremiah Estrada took to Peralta's comments section to voice their thoughts on their season.

Most of them didn't have much to add to Peralta's statement but offered support in the form of emojis and likes.

David Peralta reflects on Padres journey

David Peralta ended up being a key contributor for the San Diego Padres. He helped start a rally in Game 3 against the Los Angeles Dodgers. However, he didn't start the season as a contributor.

He said via the San Diego Union-Tribune:

“It means a lot to me, especially the way I started this year. I … gotta go play in Triple-A and try to find a way back to the big leagues. And finally, the San Diego Padres gave me an opportunity and believed in me that I could help the team do this. I’m just grateful, especially being around this great guy and all of my teammates. They all supported me, believed in me."

Things didn't finish the way Peralta or the Padres wanted, but their season was impressive nonetheless. The journeyman outfielder found a home, and the Padres a key contributor.
