Fernando Tatis Jr.'s mother, Maria Tatis, made her feelings known about her son's former San Diego Padres teammate, Jurickson Profar, signing a three-year, $42 million contract with the Atlanta Braves this offseason.
On Sunday she penned down a heartfelt note for Profar as he makes his move to Atlanta to compete in the NL East. Maria shared an image of Profar in a Braves jersey on social media, with a heartfelt note in the caption:
"Congratulations to our dear @profarjurickson 👏👏👏 May the Lord continue to add blessings in your career, but above all in your emotional, physical and spiritual life. We pray that you continue to reap success and you can prove that there is still a lot of Jurickson Profar to give thanks in baseball. In good time!! 🙏👏💝 "
The Braves acquired Profar to fill up one of the most crucial positions in their roster for the upcoming MLB season. He will be drawing a salary of $12 million in 2025 and $15 million in the two subsequent seasons.
Speaking highly about their latest acquisition Braves President for Baseball Operations Alex Anthopoulos said:
"Based on last year, we had Jurickson as the second-best free-agent bat. We believe who he was last year is who he is going forward."
Profar spent almost five years with the Padres before his latest offseason move to Atlanta. Barring the 2022 season, he played four seasons alongside teammate and good friend Fernando Tatis Jr.
The duo hail from the Caribbean Islands, albeit different countries. While Fernando is a native of the Dominican Republic, Profar is from Willemstad, Curacao.
