NL MVP finalist Francisco Lindor gave his best efforts to take the New York Mets into the postseason and then an underdog run to the NLCS, where it took the mighty Los Angeles Dodgers six games to eliminate the team from Queens.

Now in 2025, Lindor will have Juan Soto playing alongside him after the latter signed a record 15-year, $765 million deal in December. This duel should give the Mets a solid edge in years to come as they hope to end their World Series drought.

On Sunday, Lindor spoke with reporters about the Mets' offseason activities, especially the signing of Soto. Lindor expressed his excitement about Soto’s arrival, describing him as a player who "puts in the time and effort" and consistently delivers.

"I was happy," Lindor said. "I was happy for him and his family as well, and for the organization. I can't want to be a teammate of his for the next seven years and then can't wait to watch him from my house."

Lindor also mentioned one advantage of having Soto:

"He’s on base a lot, and I think that’s something that we can all learn from."

Jesse Winker also spoke about Juan Soto's signing, suggesting a big turnaround to happen in 2025.

It goes without saying that many will be tuning in to watch Soto and Lindor bring huge crowds to Citi Field. Winker also feels the same.

"Everything he's done in his career speaks for itself," Winker said of Soto. "Tremendous player, electric player. I'm looking forward to seeing how he works day-to-day. Like you said, he's left-handed and he's one of the best hitters in baseball. Getting to see that from a really good seat will be cool.
"Obviously, you're combining him with Lindor, who's coming off an MVP-type season as well. It's going to be really fun to watch both of them. I've learned so much from Francisco, so I'm grateful to be here for sure."

The Mets hope this hitting duo can overcome future games with the Dodgers in the postseason.
